NYLPUG Meeting Archives - March 2006

Thursday, March 23rd, 2006

March, 2006: We met in the cool brick space at Tekserve. Our guest was Joe Albano of Rooftop Productions. After a very lengthy session of question and answer by your host Jonathan Perl, Joe was finally able to show off his amazing work with Logic’s Environment. He has created an excellent interface for tweaking indiviual drum sounds and samples from multiple EXS instruments simultaneously, making it a snap to adjust all parameters of a complex drum setup easily. The most important part - it sounded great! (And was a much smaller sample library than you might expect given the sound.) Thanks Joe!

January 17th, 2006: We met at Dale Pro Audio, in their excellent seminar room. Too bad we didn’t have a surround sound demo to give!

Our guest at this meeting was Peter Kirn, author of the book Real World Digital Audio. Peter Discussed his book and ideas about DAWs. Discussion ended up focusing on the mighty Physical Modeling beast, Sculpture. Steve and Jonathan added their own insights about Sculpture and other Logic instruments.
